Fundraising Event benefiting CASA in the Heart
CASA in the Heart of Texas is excited to announce its upcoming fundraiser, a wonderful evening of food, wine, and dancing, taking place on November 16th at Brennan Vineyards in Comanche, TX. Join us at 802 S Austin Street, Comanche, TX 76442, from 6 PM to 10 PM.
This event is dedicated to raising funds for CASA in the Heart of Texas, an organization committed to training volunteer advocates who support children in foster care. Attendees will enjoy a variety of delicious food, raffle, fine wine, and an energetic dance floor. A special feature of the evening will be a dessert auction, and we are actively seeking dessert donations from local bakers and businesses to ensure a diverse and tempting selection.

Goldthwaite American Legion Garage Sale
The Goldthwaite American Legion Hall will be holding a garage sale to raise funds for the Legion Hall!
They will be accepting donation/donated item on October 7th - 11th from 8 AM - NOON.
Stop by and either help by donating items that you are no longer using or taking up space, or help by stoping by and grabbing items that you have been looking for! All the help goes to our local Veterans
Heritage Journey Fundraiser
The Mills County Historical Museum is inviting everyone to the inaugural “Heritage Journey” fundraiser benefiting the museum and the second-floor expansion project.
The fundraiser will be on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the museum at 1119 Fisher Street in Goldthwaite, Texas.
We will have local storytellers, preview the upper floor expansion, and join in a down-home dinner.
Individual tickets are $25.00 each and a pair of tickets will be $45.00. Reserve your tickets at mchm@centex.net or at the museum by August 30th.
The museum is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 until 2:00 pm.
Facts and Snacks - A Learning Session
Join us for our September Facts and Snacks Information Session! In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we'll discuss the importance of advocacy for the 52% of children we serve from Hispanic backgrounds. This event is open and free to the public. Snacks and information will be provided!
Goldthwaite Dexter Day
The Board of Directors of the Mills County Historical Museum invite you to attend Goldthwaite Dexter Day on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 1 PM in the museum in downtown Goldthwaite. Relatives of the first born male child born in the newly formed town of Goldthwaite will present to the museum, the cup given to the newborn in 1885.

YEE-HAW!!!! This is the BIG ONE!!!! A Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association event right here in Goldthwaite!! All the excitement of professional rodeo with many of the national names you’ll recognize. September 19, 20 and 21 starting at 8pm nightly at the Western Heritage Cowboy Church arena on Highway 183 south. Admission is $20, children 6-12 are $10 and kids 5 and under are free!! Also included in this rodeo will be local kids who qualified from The Best of Texas series at local youth rodeos this summer. Break Away Roping Thursday night; Tie Down Roping Friday night and Barrel Racing Saturday night!! Bull fighting every night, clowns and some special treats each night!! Our rodeo will be supporting the WILD COURAGE foundation all three nights. This foundation helps families and individuals struggling through mental health issues within the ranching, farming and rodeo communities. 3 fabulous rodeos’, one great weekend of fun!!

8:00 PM: Pie Eating Contest & Sack Race – Fun competitions for all ages! Participants can enter on-site, and there are exciting prizes for the winners of both the pie eating contest and the sack race!
9:15 PM: Fireworks Display – End the night with a breathtaking fireworks show synchronized to a special playlist on KRNR 92.7 FM.
Bring your blankets, chairs, and patriotic spirit for an evening of food, fun, and fireworks. This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together as a community and celebrate our freedom. Have you ever wondered what happens in the museum when it’s closed? Here’s your opportunity to discover what really happens after hours!
Saturday June 8th from 6 PM until Midnight, Children from grades 3 through 5 will get just that chance!!
We’ll start off with a walking tour of the Texas Botanical Gardens and hear great stories from Savannah Early. You’ll then proceed to the Old Mills County Jail and get a chance to see its interior. Finally, we’ll head over to the Mills County Historical Museum for pizza, a scavenger hunt, stories, and a movie with popcorn!!
There is no chance for this fin-filled evening, but children must register by may 24th.
Registration forms may be picked up Monday through Friday from 10 AM until 2 PM at The Mills County Historical Museum, 1119 Fisher Street, Goldthwaite.
